Celebrating America 250 Through Art!

One flag. Many voices. One future.

To celebrate 250 years of America, every student at our school created a piece of something bigger—our American flag! ❤️🤍💙

Before creating their pieces, students talked about the importance of the American flag, what it represents, and the history it carries. We also discussed how we can show respect for that history while recognizing that our students are part of the flag’s future, too.

Because this flag isn’t just about where we’ve been. It’s about where we’re going.

Each student designed their own piece with their name, words, and images representing what is important to them and what they hope to carry into the future. When we brought all of those individual pieces together, they became one flag, a reminder that while every student has their own story, dreams, and ideas, they are all part of what comes next.

We can’t wait to welcome our families to SEP Night this Thursday, September 24, where you’ll be able to see the flag in all its beauty and glory in person! Take a moment to look closely, you may even be able to find your student’s piece among the hundreds that came together to create it. ❤️🤍💙

And there’s even more to celebrate! 🎨 Two pieces from our student artists, one from grades K–2 and one from grades 3–5, will be selected to represent our school in the District Art Showcase!

What a beautiful way to celebrate America’s 250th honoring the history represented by our flag while giving our students the opportunity to imagine what they hope its future will hold.✨

⌨️🏆 Our 5th graders are keyboarding champs!

Our fifth grade students have officially completed their keyboarding course! Throughout the course, students worked hard to build their speed, accuracy, and confidence on the keyboard, skills they’ll continue to use throughout school and beyond.

To wrap up the course, students put their skills to the test in a keyboarding competition measuring both speed and accuracy, with students competing at the school and district levels.

👏 A huge congratulations to our Santaquin Elementary Keyboarding Winners:

🥇 Denver Robertson - 1st Place at Santaquin & 2nd Place in the District!
🥈 Madjohna Prinvil - 2nd Place at Santaquin & 12th Place in the District!
🥉 Peyton Moon - 3rd Place at Santaquin!

Families can now apply using one of the following methods.

Use the LINQ app on your phone.  Log into the app, scroll down and you will see "Free & Reduced Meal Application"
Go to LINQCONNECT.COM (http://linqconnect.com/), Click the "School Services" drop down menu and then choose "Free & Reduced Meal Application"
Remember, if families had a free or reduced eligibility last school year, they still need to apply.  The eligibility does not carry over from year to year. 
The CHILD NUTRITION WEBSITE (https://www.nebo.edu/page/child-nutrition)has useful information about our program, menus etc.

Bring your kindergarten student anytime between 9am-3pm on July 15 to participate in a quick academic assessment and speech evaluation. This information helps us to best place your student in their kindergarten class. We can't wait to see you!

Beginning June 1 through August 7, FREE lunch will be available for all children ages 18 and under through Utah Food Bank.

So much creativity happening in Art Club 🎨✨ These artists had the chance to explore projects we don’t always get to dive into during regular class time, and they absolutely rose to the challenge! From trying new techniques to pushing their creativity in new directions, it’s been so fun to watch their ideas come to life. A huge thank you to our amazing PTA for making clubs like this possible. The club fees don’t just support these experiences, they also help provide art supplies for all of our students across every grade level 💛 We are so grateful for a community that values creativity and helps our students grow as artists! 🖌️
