What an incredible evening at 5th Grade's Hall of History this past Tuesday! Our talented students selected famous historical figures to research, create posters, and present speeches (complete with costumes). The event kicked off with a heartwarming performances of Veteran Day songs. Parents then enjoyed an inspiring journey through history as they listened to individual reports in our poster-decorated hallways. It was a memorable night celebrating learning and creativity! Thank you 5th grade team and Ms. Howard!

For Veterans Day, Sage Creek Elementary had the privilege of hosting a heartfelt ceremony to honor the brave men and women who have served our country. Several former military members participated in a touching flag-raising ceremony. The Springville American Legion led this special moment, explaining the significance of the flag being at half staff. Our respectful students felt the reverence of the occasion. As the flag ascended, the students and staff sang, "The Star Spangled Banner". In a moving tribute, our 5th-grade students performed "Thank You Military" and the "Armed Forces Medley," showcasing their gratitude through song. The ceremony concluded with the solemn notes of "Taps," a fitting end to a day of reflection and appreciation.

This enchanting performance aligned with the Utah State Core Curriculum for Kindergarten, fostering creativity, expression, and community. By engaging in artistic expression, our young learners are developing essential communication skills and a love for the arts.

Our kindergartners embarked on a pumpkin exploration adventure after their field trip to Cornbelly's. They dove into hands-on learning by weighing their pumpkins, measuring circumference and height, and creating beautiful observational drawings. The highlight? Hypothesizing and testing if their pumpkins would float! A huge thanks to our 5th graders for being incredible helpers and mentors during this fun and educational experience.
