Ms. Owen's homeroom class has been working hard and earned a 'Readathon' because of their good behavior in class! We turned our classroom into a cozy reading retreat. Students brought blankets and pillows, creating their own comfy reading spots around the room. With books in hand, they dove into their stories, enjoying the freedom to move around and settle wherever they felt most comfortable. The relaxed atmosphere made reading fun and engaging, fostering a love for books and a sense of community among our young readers. It was a fantastic day of adventures through literature!
Mrs. Dickson's class, along with the other 4th-grade classes, recently completed a CKLA (Language Arts) unit on inventors and the invention process. As part of the unit, they participated in a "game show" called *Eureka! Student Inventor,* where they had fun learning about famous inventors, brainstorming creative solutions to various problems, and even building their own inventions!
To start the new year in Mrs. Robison's class, we created 2025 flipbooks to set goals and reflect on all the amazing things we accomplished in 2024. We’re excited to keep learning and growing in 2025!

**3rd Grade December Culture Day**
We had the wonderful opportunity to welcome Mateo Miramontes's mom and Lincoln Murphy's dad, who came to share about two incredible countries they love—El Salvador and Russia!
The students enjoyed learning about the languages, home and school life, holidays, traditions, and delicious foods from each culture. We even got to try a fun dance from El Salvador and discovered how people in Russia prepare for the cold weather!
A huge thank-you to our guest speakers for teaching us and making Culture Day so special! 🌍✨
In preschool, we are continuing our holiday fun! We are making elf hats and singing along to fun Christmas songs! 🎄🎶
On Wednesday, December 4th, our talented first graders brought the holiday spirit to life with their enchanting Christmas Concert. The performance featured a delightful lineup, beginning with a charming poem, *Five Little Bells,* followed by a beautifully harmonized song sung in a round.
The students showcased their musical talents with a rhythmic rendition of *The Nutcracker* using rhythm sticks, a lively performance of *Jingle Bells* with bells, and a magical interpretation of *Sugar Plum Fairy* using sticks and scarves. The concert ended on a high note with their favorite song, *Blitzen's Boogie,* where the students sang and danced with energy and joy.
It was a true delight to witness the creativity and enthusiasm our students brought to the stage. Thank you to everyone who joined us for this wonderful celebration of the season!
Preschool is full of holiday fun! From building gingerbread houses to counting gingerbread men, we’re developing fine motor skills and practicing our numbers! 🎄
At Meadow Brook we are empowering kids to take charge of their choices! 🌟 Here’s a snapshot of four friends in Mrs. Dickson's class sharing the '5 Things We Can Control'—attitude, words, actions, manners, and effort. 💪
There are many ways to describe items. In speech, we help our students expand their language by practicing the use of descriptive words in various ways. We focus on skills like identifying the group or category an item belongs to, explaining what it does, describing what it's made of, detailing what it looks like, stating where it can be found, naming its parts, and sharing any other important information. Our speech students are making great progress with this!
Silly slippers and socks are a fun way to celebrate great classroom behavior! We love having anything cozy to keep us learning in kindergarten! ❤️
The Special Education Team at Meadow Brook includes teachers and technicians from the preschool classroom, accommodated core class, and resource classroom. We collaborate closely with related service providers, such as speech pathologists, a school psychologist, occupational therapists, and physical therapists. Our team also works hand in hand with the principal, counselors, facilitators, and classroom teachers. In many ways, the Special Education Team involves nearly everyone at Meadow Brook!
We are committed to delivering specialized instruction and fostering an inclusive environment where all students, regardless of their abilities, can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
In kindergarten, we've been learning about farms and how they provide us with much of our food, from animals and crops. We've also had the chance to welcome a couple of special guests who shared why farms are so important!
Our school has been open for nine wonderful years, and we have nine years' worth of gratitude to share! We've condensed it into nine big things we're especially thankful for. As we head into Thanksgiving Break, we feel so fortunate to work alongside you and your children every day. We truly love and appreciate each one of you. Both of Mrs. Neilson's kindergarten classes had a blast learning about forces of motion with Discovery Gateway!
Kindergarten was thrilled to participate in a presentation by the Discovery Gateway Museum! We explored push and pull motions and tested them out with exciting, hands-on experiments!
Our preschoolers are excitedly preparing for Thanksgiving! We’ve been exploring the foods we might enjoy, sharing our favorites and not-so-favorites, and reflecting on everything we’re grateful for.
We had our first fourth grade field trip on today! Our students went to UVU to attend GIS Day (Geographical Information Systems). At this event we learned more about how to use and decode maps. We also discovered why and how maps are made. UVU treated us with popcorn and cake!
In 2nd grade, we’ve had so much fun learning about Greek mythology, and now we’re creating our very own Greek myths!
